The three phases

PhaseLengthWhat happens
1. Pre-Transfer3 daysEach state's transfer power cap is set and you can see which states you can join. Nobody moves yet.
2. Invitational2 daysOnly invited chiefs can move. Chiefs above a state's power cap need a Special Invite (a state can send up to 3). Others can use Ordinary Invites.
3. Open Transfer2 daysAny eligible chief can move to any state that still has room, using Transfer Passes.

States are split into Leading and Ordinary groups by the combined Transfer Score of their top 100 active chiefs, which the event uses to set its rules. A recent event ran from 13 to 19 September 2026. Dates are announced in game.

How to transfer, step by step

  1. Check you're eligible during Pre-Transfer. Open the event and look at the list of states you can join and your pass cost for each.
  2. Pick a state and talk to it first. Contact its leadership. If your power is over its cap, you'll need one of its 3 Special Invites.
  3. Get your Transfer Passes from packs or the Alliance Shop. Higher Transfer Scores need more.
  4. Spend or protect your resources. Anything above your Storehouse protection is lost in the move.
  5. Bring your marches home and confirm the transfer in the phase that applies to you (Invitational with an invite, or Open Transfer).
  6. Join an alliance in your new state straight away. Remember the 25-day cooldown before you can move again.

Is it worth transferring?

A transfer makes sense if your state is inactive, or if you want to join friends or a stronger alliance. It can be a bad idea right before a big event, or if your state is about to unlock a new generation. Because the target must match your generation and Fire Crystal stage, use the state timeline to see what your state unlocks next, and the Furnace calculator to plan your next Fire Crystal upgrades.

Common mistakes

  • Moving with unprotected resources. Spend them on upgrades first.
  • Buying passes before the Pre-Transfer phase shows your real cost.
  • Assuming you can come back. Transfers are permanent and there's a 25-day cooldown.
  • Arriving without an alliance lined up. Contact the target state before the Invitational phase.

Between 1 and 50. The higher your Transfer Score compared with the states you can join, the more you need. The exact number shows in-game once the transfer event starts.

Can I transfer state whenever I want?

What do I lose when I transfer state?

Resources above your Storehouse protection limit are lost. The move is permanent and you can't go back to your old state.

Where do Transfer Passes come from?

Packs and the Alliance Shop. The Help Center says 85 Transfer Passes are sold in packs each month.
