How much ore does it take to max equipment?

Every Common piece costs the same to upgrade, and so does every Epic piece. Taking a Common to level 18 costs 27,260 Shiny Ore and 1,920 Glowy Ore. Taking an Epic to level 27 costs 56,060 Shiny, 3,720 Glowy and 480 Starry Ore. Glowy Ore is only charged every third level, and Starry Ore only on Epic pieces, so the jumps at levels 3, 6, 9 and so on are where you tend to get stuck.

The Blacksmith level caps how high you can go: level 9 equipment needs Blacksmith 1, levels 10 to 12 need Blacksmith 3, and each later step needs a higher Blacksmith, which in turn needs a higher Town Hall. The calculator shows the Blacksmith and Town Hall needed for your targets.

Which equipment should get ore first?

  • Upgrade what you actually use. Ore is the slowest resource in the game, so spread it thinly and you end up with nothing strong. Pick two pieces per hero for your main attack and push those.
  • Stop at a Glowy step if you are short. Because Glowy is charged every third level, taking a piece to just before the next Glowy cost is the most Shiny-efficient way to build up.
  • Save Starry Ore for one Epic at a time. Starry is the rarest ore, and a single maxed Epic is worth more than three half-done ones.
  • Check the Trader every week. Gems and Raid Medals can buy ore there, which is often the fastest way past a Glowy or Starry wall.

What is the max level of hero equipment?

Common equipment goes up to level 18 and Epic equipment up to level 27. How high you can go also depends on your Blacksmith level.
