How to get Raid Medals and Capital Gold in Clash of Clans

How attack medals are calculated

Raid Medals aren't paid per building you destroy. At the end of the weekend the game adds up the medals for every district your clan destroyed, divides that by every attack your clan used, and multiplies the result by the number of attacks you made (up to six). That's capped at 270 medals per attack.

So two things raise everyone's medals: destroying more districts, especially higher-level ones, and using fewer attacks to do it. A clan that clears districts in two attacks earns far more per attack than one that spreads ten weak hits across a district. Your own share also depends on how many attacks you used, so always use all six.

Capital Peak is set by the Capital Hall level, and other districts by their District Hall level (up to 5).

How to get more Raid Medals

1. Use all six attacks. You get five, plus a bonus attack the first time one of your attacks finishes off a district.
2. Finish districts, don't start new ones. Attack the district your clan is already working on. A half-destroyed district earns no medals.
3. Plan the clan's attacks. Fewer attacks per district raises the per-attack baseline for everyone. Good clans use a chat or a pinned plan to say who hits what.
4. Defend well. You get 1 medal for every 25 housing space the attacking clan loses on your best-defending district layout, up to 350. Strong layouts in your Clan Capital pay every member.
5. Join an active clan with a high Capital Hall. Higher-level raid targets are worth more medals per district.

How Capital Gold works

• Destroying buildings in raids. Each building has a Capital Gold value, and defences are worth more than other buildings. Partly damaged buildings give nothing.
• Finishing a district. The attack that finishes a district earns 3 Capital Gold for every housing space of troops you still have, adjusted for their remaining health.
• The Forge. It turns your home village resources into small amounts of Capital Gold all week, not just during raids.

You can hold 35,000 Capital Gold. Anything over that from raids or the Forge is lost, so donate it to your Clan Capital regularly. Capital Gold is only used to upgrade the Clan Capital, and you keep it if you leave the clan.

Common mistakes

• Sitting at the 5,000 medal cap. Extra medals turn into Gems at only 1 per 100. Even buying a potion and selling it gives more.
• Opening a new district while another is half done. Unfinished districts pay nothing.
• Skipping your bonus attack. Finishing a district gives you a sixth attack, and that's another share of the clan's medals.
• Holding Capital Gold over 35,000. Loot and Forge gold above the cap is wasted.
