How to get Shiny, Glowy and Starry Ore in Clash of Clans
Your daily Star Bonus and your Clan War attacks give most of your ore. The weekly Trader adds 10 free Glowy Ore plus ore deals for Raid Medals and Gems, and those deals are the main extra source of Starry Ore.

What each ore is for
Ore upgrades Hero Equipment at the Blacksmith. 
Shiny Ore is used on every level. 
Glowy Ore is needed every third level. Starry Ore is only used by Epic equipment, and it's the one that runs out. Plan your ore around your Epic pieces. The equipment calculator shows exactly how much each piece still needs.
1. Star Bonus (every day)
From Skeleton League up, the daily Star Bonus gives all three ores. The amount rises with your league. Below is the first tier of each league; the in-between tiers add 5 Shiny Ore each.

Doing the Star Bonus all seven days in Legend League adds up to 8,750 Shiny, 504 Glowy and 14 Starry Ore a week. Star Bonus multipliers from events also boost ore.
2. Clan War attacks
Each war attack on a Town Hall 8 or higher base earns ore after the war ends. One star gets you the full amount for that base. With no stars you get a share based on your destruction. Losing a war halves it, and a draw pays 4/7.

Maximum ore per base. The War Bonus Extra Loot clan perk doesn't increase it. Bases below Town Hall 10 give no Starry Ore.
3. The Trader (every week)

The Trader's stock rotates, so not every offer is there every week. The 15 Starry Ore for 150 Gems works out at 10 Gems per Starry Ore, compared with 35 Gems each when topping up at the Blacksmith.

How to get more ore, in order
- Never miss the Star Bonus. It's the biggest steady source. Climbing a league raises it every day.
- Use every war attack. Opt in to war and get at least one star on each attack. The first star is what unlocks the full ore.
- Grab the free 10 Glowy Ore from the Trader each week.
- Spend Raid Medals on Starry Ore first. 5 Starry Ore for 350 medals, twice a week, is the best medal deal if Epic equipment is your goal. See the Raid Medals guide to earn more.
- If you buy anything with Gems, buy the Trader's ore deals, never the Blacksmith top-up.
- Watch the events. Event passes and some event shops add ore, often more than a week of Star Bonus.
Common mistakes
- Upgrading every piece of equipment a little. Focus your ore on the pieces you actually use in your main attack.
- Topping up Starry Ore with Gems at the Blacksmith. At 35 Gems each it costs more than three times the Trader price.
- Skipping war because your base is weak. You still earn ore from your own attacks, even when the clan loses (half for a loss).
- Hitting a much lower Town Hall in war. Lower bases give less ore, and Town Hall 9 and below give no Starry Ore at all.

What is the fastest way to get Starry Ore?
Do your Star Bonus every day and use every Clan War attack against Town Hall 10 or higher. Then buy the Trader's Starry Ore deals: 5 Starry Ore for 350 Raid Medals (twice a week) and 15 for 150 Gems (once a week).
Does the Star Bonus always give ore?
Only from Skeleton League up. It then gives all three ores every day, rising with your league up to 1,250 Shiny, 72 Glowy and 2 Starry Ore in Legend League.
Do you need three stars in war to get ore?
No. One star earns the full ore from that base. With zero stars you get a share based on the destruction percentage. Losing or drawing the war cuts the ore, as it does war loot.
How many Gems does Starry Ore cost?
Topping up at the Blacksmith costs 35 Gems per Starry Ore, 5 per Glowy and 1 per Shiny. The Trader's 15 Starry Ore for 150 Gems works out at 10 Gems each, so it's far better value.
