How to migrate in Rise of Kingdoms: requirements and passports

You need City Hall 16 or higher, enough Passport Pages for your power, no alliance, every march home and no more open resources than your Storehouse protects. The destination kingdom must also be open to you. A normal migration starts a 30-day cooldown.

These are the brackets most guides publish in 2026. Lilith has changed them before and the migration screen shows your exact number, so check it before buying any. Passport Pages cost 600,000 individual alliance credits each in the Alliance Shop and also come from events and packs.

How to migrate, step by step

  1. Pick a kingdom and contact it. Check its power cap and whether it's open to your season, and talk to its leadership about a spot.
  2. Spend or protect your resources. Use anything above your Storehouse protection on upgrades or training.
  3. Get your Passport Pages from the Alliance Shop, events or packs.
  4. Bring everything home and leave your alliance.
  5. Open the Kingdom Overview (or the map), find the target kingdom, choose a spot and confirm the migration.
  6. Join your new alliance straight away for help and protection.

Should you migrate?

Migrating makes sense if your kingdom is dead, you want to join friends, or a kingdom's KvK matchups suit you better. Plan it between KvKs, and keep in mind the bigger your power, the more passports you'll need. Stronger players often keep their power down before a move, for example by not training new troops in the weeks before. Think about which commanders and troops your new alliance needs too (see the commander tier list).

Common mistakes

  • Buying passports before checking your exact number in game.
  • Leaving scouts or marches out. Migration won't start until everything is home.
  • Holding too many unprotected resources. Spend them first.
  • Not checking the destination's power cap and season. You can't migrate if you're over the cap.
  • Waiting for a free 'Beginner's Immigration'. It has been removed from the game.

FAQ

How many passports do I need to migrate?

It depends on your power. Commonly listed brackets start at 1 Passport Page under 10M power and rise to 75 above 100M. The migration screen shows your exact number, so check it before buying any.

Why can't I migrate in Rise of Kingdoms?

Usually one requirement isn't met: you're still in an alliance, a march or scout is out, you hold too many unprotected resources, your power is over the kingdom's cap, or the kingdom is closed to your season.

Is there a free migration for new players?

There used to be a Beginner's Immigration item, but the Rise of Kingdoms Wiki lists it as removed from the game.
